About InfolutionInfolution is an aviation information technology company that develops leading edge software for aeronautical companies, civil aviation authorities (CAA) and military authorities, and air traffic control (ATC) organizations worldwide. The Infolution team is comprised of aviation specialists who also have years of experience in custom designed Instrument Flight Procedures (IFP). Infolution has developed its own proprietary technology designed to ensure the integrity of Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) and flight information. Infolution collaborates with aviation authorities and agencies worldwide to increase the safety, efficiency, reliability and quality of aircraft operations. Infolution has established its reputation with one of the most prestigious aviation organization in the world, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Our new Procedure for Air Navigation System Operations Software, PANS-OPS Software™, is distributed by ICAO. This is an important step forward in the worldwide standardization of IFP design. Infolution’s software are designed on a relational database instead of a CAD system. It makes them Information Systems rather then aided tools. The Information System concept ensures flight data integrity as well as exchange between users creating synergism. Flight safety through aeronautical flight data integrity is Infolution’s top priority. The Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) and Instrument Flight Procedure (IFP) design regulations require industry-specific state-of-the-art systems. Common off-the-shelf Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are not specifically designed and built to fit these requirements; therefore we have designed our own GIS using a relation database embedded into an Information System. Infolution’s GIS is an expert system that can bridge with basically any type of geographic data. This GIS is used in SoftAirspace™ and SoftAirdrome™ which allows the users to manage and analyze earth surface information like scanned maps, raster maps, digital maps, Digital Elevation Model (DEM) or Digital Terrain Elevation Data™ (DTED™) in a computerized geographic environment. It then depicts a multi-layer view of the terrain that integrates multi-layer topographical maps of different scales and projections, digital contours information, aeronautical information with zoom-in capability. Infolution believes that the topographical display should rely on more than one source of geographical data since discrepancies are not infrequent. The system’s “aeronautical rolling mapping©” feature enables the user to see the impact of changes on neighbouring Instrument Flight Procedures (IFP). Based on a relational database, this “rolling mapping” unique concept allows showing on screen multi layers of information in a continuous stationary the airspace structure in a “What you have is what you see” mode without being confined within a specific drawing file limited by memory size and region. SoftAirspace™ and SoftAirdrome™ are also using “relational-impact-analysis©” a concept which provide the unique capability of spontaneously creating a list of IFP affected by an aeronautical data modification like a runway coordinate update. This relational environment improves effectiveness, avoids duplication, ensures uniformity, and permits better quality control. This solution enables the management team to search for specific cases or plan IFP development in creating “what-if” scenarios. The Obstacle Evaluation Impact Search Engine (OEISE©) in Infolution’s software, analyses the IFPs and airdrome surfaces to identify the consequences of adding or modifying obstacle data. This unique configuration is embedded in the Information System and the GIS. It saves considerable time and ensures that all IFPs are evaluated against the proposed new obstacle. The OEISE© has the possibility to appoint a responsible person for the entire organization needs on obstacle evaluation (OE), resulting in flexibility and substantial cost savings. This function ensures the integrity of flight data and increase flight safety.
THE TEAMAdministrationMr. Pierre Paul ProvostPresident, Research & Development Criteria Specialist Project Management Mr. Provost is constantly seeking for new emerging technologies and is, since always, fascinated by the Aeronautical world. His innovative spirit matched with those interests and a strong eighteen-year experience in Instrument Flight Procedure design made has made him join Infolution's ranks. Mr. Provost worked for significant corporations such as Transport Canada, Nav Canada, and the International Air Transport Association (IATA), as well as for several companies from the private sector. During seven year, he has served as Technical Advisor for Transport Canada's representative on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for the Obstacle Clearance Panel (OCP). He actually pursues his technical advisor's activities on the Collision Risk Model (CRM) related tasks for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), more specifically for the U.S. member to the ICAO Instrument Flight Procedures Panel (IFPP). Since 1981, he has obtained several pilot licences. To this day, he has designed over 400 Instrument Flight Procedures. Mr. Provost detains a Bachelors degree in Management from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales of the Université de Montréal.Mrs. Guylaine Gauthier Vice-President, Software Design Project Management Mrs. Gauthier has more than 15 years of programming experience in the Aviation, Aerospace and Telecommunications industries. Mrs. Gauthier is beyond doubt a pioneer of the Aviation & Aerospace and Information Systems fusion. She has significant experience working as a consultant for major international companies and organizations such as Bombardier, Nortel, and Air Navigation Authorities. She holds a college degree in Computer Science and a Certificate in Administration from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). BOARD OF ADMINISTRATORS CHAIRMANChairmanMr. Pierre J.
